By the mere fact of driving on the road, owners of the 100% electric vehicles Nissan LEAF and e-NV200 have become part of the “Nissan LEAF4Trees” project, whose objective is to contribute to the reforestation of the country.
By using their Zero Emissions vehicles, the drivers save more than 2,000 tons of C02 each year. With the LEAF4Trees initiative, Nissan proposes to double that benefit to the forest because the number of trees to be planted will be calculated based on the total CO2 saved by the brand’s electric vehicles between April 1, 2017 and June 30, 2018.
The project has the support of the Institute of Nature and Forest Conservation, Tourism of the Center and the Secretary of State for Forestry and Rural Development. It is planned to plant 180,000 trees in Pinhal de Leiria.
